Fictive Star Wars characters also have to breathe, and thus Codan has been asked to provide hoses to the field helmet of Rio’s character.

The hose in question is particularly suited for the harsh environment in the Star Wars universe: Industrial ventilation of air heavy with abrasive particles or very reactive substances. Suction, carrying or impulsion of hot gas and fumes.

We now also test customer’s own hoses to ensure that they perform according to the official guidelines for specific applications. You may have stock of hoses, that require testing before coupling or assembly.

Codan have the facilities for testing your hose in accordance with the relevant guidelines.

Codan is contesting the recall of the Codan LPG Hose 2601 from the Finnish market

Codan has been been asked to recall Hose type 2601 (batch. no. 1645-03) from the Finish Market through our distributors. The reason claimed is that the hose 2601-ISO3821 does not fulfil the -30 ºC test in the EN16436 standard.

The batch has only been sold in Finland.

Codan has filed a complaint against the Finish decision and have asked for retraction of the recall in Finland based on extensive tests in our own laboratory and from the independent test institute Force Technology in Denmark. (Click here to download test results)

This recall has also been added to the European Commission – Rapid Alert system. To this alert Codan Rubber has also filled a complaint against the formulation in the alert.

The words used are: “The gas hose is not suitable for use in cold conditions” The meaning of this formulation can be misunderstood and indicates that the hose can not be used in temperatures below 0 ºC. This is not correct. The test is done in -30 ºC and Codan has filed a complaint on the matter.

We have absolute confidence in our product and the hose passes all tests performed by the independent test institute Force Technology in Denmark.

This new EN Norm does not replace existing standards relating to Gas Welding, Propulsion (eg. Auto LPG) or bulk delivery.
